Smoothing & Shine Hair Mask
A rich, smoothing hair mask designed to enhance shine, reduce frizz, and leave hair feeling silky and manageable. This BTMS-50 and dimethicone blend delivers deep conditioning with a polished, salon-inspired finish. Ideal for dry, coarse, or frizz-prone hair.
Ingredients
- (All measurements are by weight)
- 8.4 oz Distilled Water
- 2.8 oz BTMS-50
- 1.0 oz Cetearyl Alcohol
- 1.0 oz Argan Oil
- 0.8 oz Dimethicone
- 0.6 oz Vegetable Glycerin
- 0.4 oz DL Panthenol Powder
- 0.16 oz Liquid Germall Plus
- 0.08 oz Fragrance Oil
- Citric Acid Solution (10%) – as needed to adjust pH
Instructions
- Combine distilled water and glycerin in a heat-safe container. Heat to 170°F.
- In a separate container, combine BTMS-50, cetearyl alcohol, argan oil, and dimethicone. Heat to 170°F until fully melted and uniform.
- Slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while stick blending for 2–3 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Allow mixture to cool to 120°F. Add DL Panthenol and mix thoroughly.
- Below 110°F, add preservative and fragrance.
- Adjust pH to 4.5–5.0 using small amounts of 10% citric acid solution.
- Allow to cool fully before packaging in jars or squeeze tubes.
- Target pH: 4.5–5.0
