Smoothing Cream Leave-In Conditioner
A lightweight cream leave-in conditioner designed to smooth frizz, enhance shine, and provide lasting softness. This BTMS-50 and dimethicone blend offers refined slip and humidity resistance without heaviness. Ideal for dry, wavy, or curly hair types.
Ingredients
- (All measurements are by weight)
- 11.2 oz Distilled Water
- 1.8 oz BTMS-50
- 0.6 oz Cetyl Alcohol
- 0.6 oz Argan Oil (or Meadowfoam Seed Oil)
- 0.5 oz Dimethicone
- 0.5 oz Vegetable Glycerin
- 0.4 oz DL Panthenol Powder
- 0.16 oz Liquid Germall Plus
- 0.08 oz Fragrance Oil
- Citric Acid Solution (10%) – as needed to adjust pH
Instructions
- Combine distilled water and glycerin in a heat-safe container. Heat to 170°F.
- In a separate container, combine BTMS-50, cetyl alcohol, argan oil, and dimethicone. Heat to 170°F until fully melted.
- Slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while stick blending for 1–2 minutes until emulsified.
- Allow mixture to cool to 120°F. Add DL Panthenol and mix thoroughly.
- Below 110°F, add preservative and fragrance.
- Adjust pH to 4.5–5.0 using small amounts of 10% citric acid solution.
- Bottle in pump container once fully cooled.
- Target pH: 4.5–5.0
- Texture: Lightweight cream (not sprayable)
- Frizz Control: Dimethicone improves smoothness and humidity resistance
- Conditioning System: BTMS-50 provides stronger detangling
- Best For: Curly, coarse, or frizz-prone hair
- Usage: Apply small amount to damp hair. Do not rinse.
