Scalp Balance Hydration Mask
A deeply conditioning yet scalp-friendly hair mask designed to hydrate, soothe, and support overall scalp health. This BTMS-50 formula includes niacinamide and panthenol for a balanced, modern treatment ideal for dry or stressed scalps.
Ingredients
- (All measurements are by weight)
- 8.6 oz Distilled Water
- 2.6 oz BTMS-50
- 1.0 oz Cetearyl Alcohol
- 0.8 oz Meadowfoam Seed Oil
- 0.6 oz Vegetable Glycerin
- 0.5 oz DL Panthenol Powder
- 0.4 oz Niacinamide Powder
- 0.16 oz Liquid Germall Plus
- 0.08 oz Fragrance Oil
- Citric Acid Solution (10%) β as needed to adjust pH
Instructions
- Combine distilled water and glycerin in a heat-safe container. Heat to 170Β°F.
- In a separate container, combine BTMS-50, cetearyl alcohol, and meadowfoam oil. Heat to 170Β°F until fully melted.
- Slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while stick blending for 2β3 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Allow mixture to cool to 130Β°F. Add niacinamide and panthenol, mixing thoroughly until dissolved.
- Below 110Β°F, add preservative and fragrance.
- Adjust pH to 4.8β5.2 using 10% citric acid solution (niacinamide performs best above pH 4.5).
- Cool completely before packaging in jars.
- Target pH: 4.8β5.2 (important for niacinamide stability)

Troubleshooting
Niacinamide Not Dissolving?
Ensure mixture is warm (around 120β130Β°F) before adding.
Too Thick?
Reduce cetearyl alcohol slightly.
Too Heavy?
Reduce meadowfoam oil by 0.2β0.3 oz.
pH Drops Below 4.5?
Adjust carefully upward (avoid too acidic environment with niacinamide).
