Intensive Repair Hair Mask
A rich, deeply conditioning treatment designed to restore softness, smoothness, and shine to dry or damaged hair. This high-performance BTMS and fatty alcohol blend delivers enhanced slip and long-lasting hydration. Ideal for weekly deep conditioning treatments.
Ingredients
- (All measurements are by weight)
- 8.2 oz Distilled Water
- 3.0 oz BTMS-50
- 1.2 oz Cetearyl Alcohol
- 1.0 oz Meadowfoam Seed Oil
- 1.0 oz Avocado Oil
- 0.6 oz Vegetable Glycerin
- 0.5 oz DL Panthenol Powder
- 0.16 oz Liquid Germall Plus
- 0.08 oz Fragrance Oil
- Citric Acid Solution (10%) – as needed to adjust pH
Instructions
- Combine distilled water and glycerin in a heat-safe container. Heat to 170°F.
- In a separate container, combine BTMS-50, cetearyl alcohol, meadowfoam oil, and avocado oil. Heat to 170°F until fully melted.
- Slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while stick blending for 2–3 minutes until thick and fully emulsified.
- Allow mixture to cool to 120°F. Add DL Panthenol and mix thoroughly.
- Below 110°F, add preservative and fragrance.
- Adjust pH to 4.5–5.0 using 10% citric acid solution.
- Allow to cool completely before packaging in jars.
- Target pH: 4.5–5.0
- Conditioning System: Higher BTMS level for deeper detangling and slip
- Structure: Increased cetearyl alcohol creates mask-level thickness
- Oil Phase: 12–13% for deeper nourishment
- Hair Type: Best for dry, coarse, curly, or chemically treated hair
- Usage: Apply to damp hair. Leave on 5–15 minutes before rinsing.
